I recently had the chance to participate in a weeklong nonprofit leadership course at Duke University. The Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership offers experienced nonprofit professionals the opportunity to increase their capacity for effective entrepreneurial leadership through theoretical studies and executive skills training.
This month I had the opportunity to attend the North Carolina Philanthropy Conference, hosted by the North Carolina chapters of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
As a resident of the Carolinas most of my life, I’ve seen my fair share of weather events. Extreme heat, freak snowstorms, hurricanes, and tornadoes are the unfortunate price we pay for living in such a great locale. However, Hurricane Florence brought up new emotions — some of which I am still processing — and a fresh perspective on our community.
I sat down this weekend to watch The Way, an inspiring story about family, friends and the challenges we face while navigating life, relationships, and the world around us. I’d promised my friend and business partner Tom McGuire that I would watch it so that upon his return from hiking the Camino de Santiago (the Way of St. James) we could talk about his experience and I could better appreciate the journey that he was embarking on.
Whether you’re ready to expand your organizational capacity and move forward with purpose, or just want to talk shop, we’d love to connect.
