Julie began her career at a public relations firm after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She then worked for several years as an Account Executive for Katz Communications and then Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.
For the past 8 years, Julie worked for SHARE Charlotte as Director of Community Partnerships, a role that focused on building partnerships with local corporations, nonprofits, consultants, and media outlets all in service to strengthening the Charlotte nonprofit sector and the communities they serve. Through strategic partnerships, Julie helped to build SHARE Charlotte’s professional development program for their 700+ partner nonprofits. She also built relationships with media outlets and secured 100+ media segments each year for Charlotte nonprofits.
Julie grew up in the mountains of North Carolina, lived in Charlotte for 27 years, and now lives in Raleigh with her husband, Bruce Ham. They have five adult children who are scattered across the country. She loves the outdoors and enjoys hiking, skiing (both water and snow!), and walking the greenway with her two year old Bernese Mountain Dog, Gordon.
