If you have spent even a bit of time with me, you know I have a plan for everything. I like to play out different scenarios. I document the strategy, state the goals, and play with the fonts to make it look pretty. Who says planning is not fun?
I think I might have stepped out of line a bit lately. In our role as strategic advisors with Armstrong McGuire, we get the honor of partnering with a variety of nonprofits, staff, board members, and volunteers as they navigate change, set vision, or strive to build capacity. Sometimes they are trying to do all three at once. It’s a lot!
It was a good night! Friends we have not seen in over 18 months called and asked us over for dinner. We have been holding out, but now that all of us had our COVID-19 vaccines it was GO time! The food was fantastic, but the company and conversation were spectacular. That moment getting out of the car and walking to greet our friends felt a bit out of place, or at least it did for about 15 seconds. We were out of practice! Then my friend asked, “Can I hug you?”
