One of my favorite things to do is to work with clients to develop an organizational assessment
As of 2:30 PM this past Tuesday, my wife and I are the proud owners of a second home. More accurately, we are the new landlords of a townhouse that will be occupied by our daughter and two of her friends while they are in college.
I always know when spring arrives. Not because of the weather — goodness knows it doesn’t feel like spring here in North Carolina yet — but because my mailbox starts filling up with invitations to nonprofit events. With people taking vacation in the summer, and winter months reserved for holidays and end-of-year appeals, the remaining seasons are chock-full of golf tournaments, galas, walks, bike rides, and other special events designed to generate revenue.
Despite the nonprofit sector’s complexity and diversity, there are a fair number of common practices or conventional wisdom. One practice is when a founding director announces their intention to retire or otherwise leave the organization, it is best to make a clean break – thorough and swift.
Whether you’re ready to expand your organizational capacity and move forward with purpose, or just want to talk shop, we’d love to connect.
