The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina (FBCENC) welcomed Amy Beros as its new President and CEO in January. Rather than a new beginning, it’s more of a homecoming.
Amy steps into this role with a lifetime of dedication to fighting hunger. Her passion started early, volunteering as a child with her family at a food pantry in Anderson, SC where she grew up. That sense of purpose never left her, shaping a career that has included roles with Easter Seals, Interfaith Food Shuttle, and Feeding America. Through these roles she worked at regional, local, and national levels creating solutions with both immediate impact and systemic reach.
But Amy is no stranger to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC; she previously led the development team and spearheaded a capital campaign that built the current Raleigh headquarters. She understands first-hand FBCENC’s mission, people, and the heart of the communities served because she’s been part of this journey as a professional and a community advocate. Amy, her husband Adrian, and their children Addison and Anderson live locally, and carry on her family's tradition of service, volunteering to help neighbors in need.
For Amy, hunger relief is about more than meals—it’s about equity, dignity, and lasting change.
“I believe in the power of bringing people together to create solutions that truly make a difference,” she says. “This isn’t just a job. It’s a commitment to our neighbors, to ensuring every family has the food they need to thrive.”
She also knows that today’s challenges—rising food costs, growing need, and shifts in fundraising—require bold ideas. “The Food Bank is in a unique position to not just respond to hunger but to tackle its root causes. I’m excited to build on the incredible work already happening and explore new ways to serve our community even better.”
For Amy, family and friends help keep her centered in the midst of a fast-paced career. You may also find Amy lifting weights, exploring new places, playing with her rescue dogs, or singing one of her favorite Dolly Parton songs.
Congratulations, Amy and the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina!
